I want to formally welcome the two people who actually know about this blog with an entry. Even though I set up this blog about two and a half weeks ago, the blog probably would have stayed empty if it weren't for some prodding by Dan-Bob himself.
Now you may ask, who the hell is Dan-Bob? Dan-Bob is one of my best friends, but at times (pretty much everyday) he is a surley asshole. It's awesome. He likes to pick fights at bars with people twice his size, and needs other people to save him from an imminent ass-kicking. Dan-Bob hates many things, including the Chicago Cubs, Coldplay, The Ballpark in Arlington, and Bob-Bob. Dan-Bob earned his nickname because he looks exactly like Bob-Bob (thanks for pointing that out to everyone, TPL). I will try to procure a picture to let you judge for yourself.
You may also ask, why should Dan-Bob be fired? Dan-Bob writes for firejaymariotti.blogspot.com, a great website "dedicated to venting frustration about dumb members of the sports media via angry commentary." If you have not read it, I highly recommend it. Everyone there writes excellent articles, but recently Dan-Bob has departed from the spirit of firejay at my team's expense. I am a huge Cubs fan, and after postings like this, and this (not to mention some other one sentence jabs in his other postings), Dan-Bob has been using the website to express his frustration that Dusty Baker is his team's manager instead of using it to criticize sports media.
(FYI this blog will not be entirely about Dan-Bob, but I thought it was important to make Dan-Bob feel good about himself in the inaugural posting.)
